The decision to be made in the next meeting which will be held in july. The ICC agreed to wait another month before taking a call to the T20 World Cup.
On the other hand, the future of the Indian rich T20 league depends on the cancelation of the T20 World Cup as the delay in the mega-event would give Indian cricketing authorities a window to organise their league.
In India, the Cricket Control Board (BCCI) has slammed the International Cricket Council (ICC) for repeatedly delaying the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 decision. Because BCCI wants to organize their rich league in October.
BCCI official said it’s not only about IPL but also about the other cricketing nations being able to arrange their bilateral series in the window. so if they decide to postpone it, they’ll announce it.
“It’s just not about the IPL or the BCCI. When ICC declares the postponement this month, then those cricketing nations whose players are not part of the IPL will schedule their bilateral series in that window.
ICC ‘s quick decision will help BCCI reach a conclusion regarding the IPL ‘s hosting venue. Also, Sri Lanka emerged as possible hosts where there are three grounds – Premadasa, Pallekele and Hambantota. The island nation is considered to host the T20 extravaganza as a cost-effective option.
